'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic dying seconds of Swansea's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear amid the on-field celebration.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative strike from 25 yards, and the defender promptly hammered in the deflection before charging toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with supporters swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result capped an unbelievable comeback given the team had found themselves down 2-0 during the latter period. During the delirium, there was some collateral damage. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

That win secured a fourth-round game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with Jamie Donley's first-time shot from about way out going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. It feels criminal that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that range," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right defensive wing after Orient changed shape. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way his former team played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the basics and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they are adept at manage and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're doing well and then without warning they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a tough attitude and concentration just to stay in the game."

New Chapter

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across multiple campaigns at Orient and has quickly achieved similar status in Wales. At Orient he linked up again with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at Doncaster from Old Trafford. Then came a temporary move at League Two Salford, before he departed his boyhood club.

Learning Curve

"I was probably a bit naive going into senior level. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without much intensity. There are limited physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

National Team Success

He has demonstrated that maturation for his team and nation, excelling for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including both legs games against a football powerhouse. The ex-coach, Galbraith's former international manager, paid him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This marks quite the ride for the kid from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his parent, his father, also a central player, play for his father's team.

Red Devils Debut

The player's only game for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to the weather of freezing cold. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he comments, smiling. "The week before, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to travel with the first team and get a couple of minutes at the end was amazing."

Moving On

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I reached the point where I understood I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it got to the point where I thought I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called player transport, a small coach driven by team personnel, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's nice to socialize with the lads but I'm hoping to be the next one to drive independently and on the road. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

During his time at his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on public transport after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
